Are the bagels free of corn?

The bagels are fully free of any corn protein, and are fully corn free by labeling standards and for people with a “standard” corn protein allergy.

We understand that there are people who are not able to tolerate ingredients which have used corn derivatives as a processing agent despite the absence of anything still considered “corn”. We have identified the following:

Xanthan Gum: Glucose syrup from maize is a fermentation raw material, but is not contained in the end product anymore.

Ascorbic Acid: Glucose syrup from maize is again a fermentation raw material, but is not present in the end product

Yeast: Corn free, and none is present in the building.

Packaging: Our bag manufacturer does not do any “dusting” of their bags (in order to reduce stick and static), and thus does not use any corn products, and there is no corn present in the building.
